Be Sculptured was founded by Sydney liposculpture / liposuction proceduralist, Dr. Meaghan Heckenberg, driven by her passion for changing bodies, shapes and proportions. Combined with Meaghan’s significant experience, her dedication to liposculpture, Be Sculptured
strives for the highest level of safety and satisfaction for patients.
Dr. Meaghan Heckenberg has been performing liposculpture/ liposuction procedures for The Alia Clinic Sydney and Crows Nest Cosmetic and Vein Clinic since 2008. Her special interest is tumescent liposculpture performed under local anaesthetic. She has performed over 1500 procedures. “Be Sculptured” was born from her desire to concentrate on one cosmetic procedure, that being liposculpture. Meaghan has a fellowship from The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (FACCSM (Med)) and a Fellowship in Lipoplasty Surgery – only 16 currently practising doctors have this qualification from ACCSM and she is listed on the website as a liposuction provider.
Meaghan has Specialist Registration in General Practice after gaining her
Fellowship in 1997 (FRACGP) and a Diploma in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology in 1996 (DRANZCOG) and has been performing
contraceptive and reproductive out-patient gynaecological procedures
since 1998. Her medical registration number is MED0001158434.
I believe that the highest level of surgical skill is achieved by performing the same procedure often.”
Dr. Meaghan Heckenberg
Meaghan particularly enjoys changing the body’s contour and shape and size and has made liposculpture her
primary procedure in cosmetic medicine since 2008. She believes that the highest level of surgical skill is
achieved by performing the same procedure often. The process of liposculpture requires extensive
experience, dedication, patience and passion.
Meaghan understands the desire to change one’s shape and has had a thigh liposculpture procedure herself
in her mid 30’s. Exercise and training and maintaining a balanced diet are still necessary after cosmetic
surgery to maintain results. Ageing, unfortunately, has an effect on the body’s fat deposits too, and despite no
change to diet and exercise, Meaghan had another area of liposculpture at age 50 on her hips (flanks).

meaghan's story
From her own first liposculpture procedure, Meaghan had the desire to learn liposculpture. She has was offered the opportunity to train with some of the most experienced liposculpture proceduralists / surgeons in Australia and USA, some of whom have retired, but they have passed on their knowledge and skills to her.
Meaghan is also a liposculpture trainer for The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (ACCSM). She has taught other doctors how to do the procedures. She has been a council board member of the ACCSM, ensuring members of the ACCSM will practise
with integrity and honour, in the best interests of patients, for their safety and quality of care, as their highest concerns and in a manner that upholds the dignity of the medical profession.
Liposculpture can essentially be performed on most areas of the body, where there is subcutaneous fat (fat under the skin and on top of the muscle), including female breasts as a possible alternative to the more conventional breast reduction excisional surgery, in addition to male breasts / chest for gynaecomastia. Other areas are neck, face, chin, arms, waist, abdomen, hips (flanks), upper back, mid back, lower back, bra area, pubic area, buttocks, outer thighs, inner thighs, anterior thighs, back of thighs, knees, calves and ankles.
All cosmetic surgery carries risks. Be Sculptured website aims to provide balanced and accurate information, and aims to describe realistic results, so that patients may make informed choices about cosmetic surgery.
Meaghan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from The University of NSW in February 1992. Since graduating from university, she has always been interested in procedures, particularly grouping her women’s health/ general practice experience and gynaecological procedures together, before studying liposculpture.
Prior to that she attended Sydney Girls High School from 1979-1984. She was born in Sydney and has lived there most of her life.
